Olio Piro Achieves OU Kosher Certification, Reinforcing Its Commitment to Purity, Discipline, and Uncompromising Quality

New York, NY — April 7th, 2026 — Olio Piro, the award-winning producer of Piro and Cucino extra virgin olive oils in Tuscany, has obtained the Orthodox Union (OU) Kosher certification, one of the most respected and rigorous kosher certifications in the world.

Launched in the United States in 2020 by siblings Romain and Marie-Charlotte Piro, Olio Piro is thoughtfully crafted as a high-antioxidant extra virgin olive oil, appreciated for its distinctive flavor and its balance of taste and well-being. This recognition goes beyond certification. It affirms the integrity behind every bottle and reinforces Olio Piro’s position as a trusted reference for purity and uncompromising quality.

This milestone reflects a natural extension of the brand’s philosophy, where discipline, precision, and respect for the product define every stage of production. For a product already shaped by early harvest practices, high polyphenol content, and meticulous handling, the certification formalizes standards that have long guided the work.

Kosher certification for extra virgin olive oil requires full transparency across sourcing, production, and bottling, ensuring that the oil is produced without cross-contamination and in accordance with strict cleanliness and control protocols. It represents not only compliance, but a system of oversight that reinforces consistency and trust. This achievement followed a comprehensive onsite inspection at the Tuscan mill on October 22, 2025, conducted under the supervision of Rabbi Samuel Friedman of the Orthodox Union, with a full review of the production chain and its adherence to the highest standards.

Produced from early harvest olives grown on the volcanic slopes of Monte Amiata in Tuscany, Olio Piro is known for its distinctive profile, assertive and grassy with a peppery finish, as well as its elevated levels of antioxidants and polyphenols. The oil is crafted through a balance of traditional harvesting and modern extraction techniques, designed to preserve both flavor and nutritional integrity. Cold-pressed in limited batches from a unique blend of early-harvest olives, Piro is an outstanding extra virgin olive oil rooted in both origin and innovation. A proprietary double-filtration milling system, developed in collaboration with the Italian Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, further enhances purity, stability, and overall performance.

“Achieving OU Kosher certification reflects the discipline and integrity that define Olio Piro,” said Romain Piro, Co-Founder and Director of Production. “It is not a shift in how the oil is produced, but shows recognition for the standards that have always guided our work, where uncompromising quality paramount”

With growing demand in the United States for products that combine quality, health, and transparency, the certification expands Olio Piro’s accessibility across a broader audience, from kosher households to chefs and food-savvy consumers who value rigor, origin, and excellence. It also strengthens the brand’s presence across key international markets while reinforcing the coherence of its wider collection, including the kosher-certified Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena from the Bonini family. Whether selecting a polyphenol-rich olive oil or a curated olive oil and balsamic set, consumers can be assured of products vetted at the highest level of integrity and standards.

The addition of the OU seal further strengthens Olio Piro’s presence among discerning consumers and luxury retailers who require the highest level of trust, consistency, and verification.
